Audience Feedback

I have undertaken a wide variety of audience feedback from different people (of different ages and genders). I also asked them and got them to give me the feedback via different media platforms, such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Imessage and a video. This is all new audience feedback for my resubmission.

This is audience feedback via Whatsapp. WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform instant messaging application that allows iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia smartphone users to exchange text, image, video and audio messages for free. They gave me some insightful feedback that I hadn't thought about when constructing my magazine. There is some feedback that I don't agree with, this is because I don't think they have understood the codes and conventions of a pop magazine that well. An example of this being too much writing and pink. I included a lot of pink because this would stereotypically be the favourite colour of my target audience. The double page spread has a lot of writing on it because it is an interview and the page needs to look busy and full, like a real pop music magazine would.

I posted my magazine on Facebook, so I would be able to receive a wide variety of feedback from different people of different ages and genders. On Facebook, they all gave me feedback I would be able to work with in the future if I was going to do this again. They all seemed to really like the colouring of the pages and I agree with this. I really like the colouring because it is nice pastel colour for the background so the other things stand out better. They also seem to like the colour combinations when I used them on the contents page. I wanted to achieve this and put colours that look good together together. I really appreciate their feedback and it means if they were presented with the product they might have a high possibly of buy it.

One of the people who posted audience feedback on my Facebook post, then showed me the kind of pop music magazine they were referring to. (comment number 2) They believe this is more like what the magazine should look like. To some degree, I agree with them. I could have not had a background or a really pastel one to make everything pop more. I don’t totally agree with them because this is for an older target audience than I was basing mine at. This means I wouldn’t reach my target audience and this would no longer be a magazine they would want to read.

I also posted my pages on Twitter. This was to get an even wider audience. This is because anyone could have commented their feedback on the post and I would have somewhat anonymous and unbiased feedback. This would have enabled me to get more feedback and more honest opinions of what people thought, so I could make corrections if i was going to do this again.

I received some feedback via iMessage. iMessage is an instant messenger service developed by Apple Inc. The feedback was positive and had some areas for improvement. They also liked the colours but thought the contents page is muddled and crowd. I believe I have used the space in a way which I fitted a lot on without it being too much but this person doesn’t agree with this. They also don’t like the amount of photos that is included in the contents page but as the creator, I do because it gives the audience something to look at relating to the column and title. Without these pictures placed where they are, it would mostly be text and this would over load the page more.
